Im a bit confused by this article.

i thought the school boys were between under 12's and under 15's but it says frampton won gold in rome 2003 when he was 16 so he would've been a junior by then right ?

or am i getting confussed by something ?

I think this has changed quite a few times over the years to be honest. Once upon a time it was simply boys, then youths, then juniors followed by senior (intermediate being just a lower grade of senior - nothing to do with age). Then the word "cadets" came into the frame which confused me.

The world youths became the world cadets and then the world juniors - or something to that extent. But you are right in terms of the schoolboy age. That always seemed to be the same, so I'd say frampton won gold in the youths/juniors/cadets ...whatever the title of that age group was at the time

Also, Willie O' Reilly was 3 if not 4 years younger than frampton/joyce/boyle - so how could he have won the same event 12 months later?

as far as I am concerned the jury is out on all of them until they fight someone I recognise.

Theres a new guy turning over down there from Mayo now as well. Middleweight Stephen Kelly.

Dont know anything about Tims but Conquest is an ex rugby player ,high work rate, tough as nails and has very decent boxing ability.
