Incredible how Irish boxing pretty much blew it's momentum straight after the Olympics. Between Katie not turning pro and promoters not pushing for network deals it turned into kind of a damp squib. It's growing all right but they need to take advantage of this at some point. Everytime boxing grounds a little ground they end up losing more due to their own inactivity.
Irish people don't have any real interest in boxing. In fact i'd go one further and say that there is no passion to follow any sport consistently, we jump from one bandwagon to the next. Real event junkie culture
