Just checked out Boxrec and they show Paul McCloskey ranked at number 7 in the world at Light Welter. I know that Boxrec is not exactly the bible when it comes to rankings etc but I was extremely surprised that they rank him so highly. They rank Junior Witter at number 8.

    Thoughts?

Boxrec rankings are a joke - Fightnews has the best rankings, when its updated i imagine McCloskey will make their top 15

I hope he will too. But you can have a look for yourself at how his training is going:

From what I've seen in person Sutherland uses his feet very well, planting them when he's hitting and bouncing up to move around when he's slipping and evading. If you watch his feet you'll be amazed. He almost seems to move forwards and backwards without moving them at all, like some poorly animated cartoon character.

The other thing about Sutherland is his technique. Something that probably held him back in the ams because he was throwing proper technical punches rather than just throwing his hands out as fast as he could. All round I'd say he's a VERY good fighter, much better than Degale.

I thought Michael Kelly had retired. I watched him fight in Fairways Hotel. Martin Lindsay also fought that night. It was a great night, I was drunk as a skunk. It would be brilliant for Dundalk boxing if he boxed there again.:yep
