Good nights boxing Cant conplain much about any of the decisions, Nolans was 50-50 and a few very close.
Fun pace so far but they both need to calm down, very tense and too hyperactive to keep tidy and maintain control.
Nice flowing combo by Phelan, left hook downstairs with a stabbing right under Courtney's throat coming milliseconds behind it.
Nevin very cute to start. Walsh is looking to reach way out and smack him upside the head with those long fishing-rod left hooks. Nevin doing a fair job picking them off with his right forearm, sprinkling in light counter lefts. BIG right hand by Walsh. Nevin is holding and hitting. Walsh sells out with another thumping right, this one just nicking the chest as Nevin pivots and flashes jabs at him. One more big right by Walsh at the bell. Have to say the 1st belong to Walsh on the strength of some of those bell-ringers, though Nevin looked the more polished boxer. (at least with defensive maneuvers, for 99% of the round)
Nevin is getting cheeky, stepping on Walsh's lead toe and dropping in right hook/left hand combos before stepping out, mercurial. Walsh bides his time, waits for that big right to find a home - BANG. Emphatic knockdown. edit: actually, hard to say...Walsh sort of ran into him with a punch. Not sure it was a clean knockdown rather than simply bowling him over.
