Well i don't understand why he moved a weight class down, no way that it could benefit a guy like him at his stage. Would love to see Lemieux fight Lee
I don't really like Lee's new style with Booth. Hands low and crouched over. Im not keen on teaching an old dog new tricks.
I'm not sure you can blame Andys shortcomings on Booth, or any trainer to be honest. At top level Andy just isn't physically gifted enough...and it's just something you can't fix IMO. It would be good to see him get out of the game unhurt, and a highlight reel ko win is as good a time as any.....
Out of curiosity, did anybody notice the irony of what happened to JJ Jnr? His ko by Andy was almost identical to what his dad did to Herrol Graham years ago!!
Retire ? Bull**** ! He is on the verge of a world title shot, its boxing he is goin to go hit ffs, he took some good punches and took them well, and he scored a great KO, his power is has a bigger effect in the 154 division and he could defo win a title .
very disappointing news about Macklin. I've lost interest with him since I heard about his "friends".
In fairness it is very evident from your every post that you dont like Lee, Andy is currently the highest ranked Irish fighter apart from frampton,is probably our only fighter that has the ability to one punch ko lads at the higher level and is above all a very nice lad and a good representitve for Irish boxing, His weaknesses are very evident to all so constantly stating them dosent make you a genius or boxing guru,so if i may suggest just sitting back for a while and lets see where this latest high profile win may bring him, Lets face it there are worse title holders than Andy and by god we could really do with one.
Well said, Lee has 1 punch KO power that put him back In the mix last night for HBO to air him and matching him with some1 at 154 that if he wins could be on the road for another title shot.
I dont like Lee? Hello! :huh I dont like to see him continuing boxing - there is a BIG difference. I am a boxing fan, not some wierdo who like to see Andy get beat up. I call it as I see it. With "friends" who egg him on to keep fighting Andy doesnt need enemies. Andy is in a dangerous game. He is a young man with his whole life in front of him to (hopefully) enjoy in good health - that good health is not guaranteed though if he keeps getting battered. He should quit now. He wont though, partly cos his "friends" aint levelling with him. Andy gets hit too much and he is not good enough. Some guys have slick styles and can box on for years just making a living, becoming gatekeepers etc. Guys like Howard Eastman. If Andy was like that Id say 'fine'. Andy isnt like that - he gets hit flush too much. Neutral Russian commentator says it all. Listen carefully at about 1.27. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFwA4jaSNZM
Absolutely. Thought the very same thing. I only wish we had the same reaction from the commentary team. One of my favourite calls ever "oh no! That's what we were afraid of". Talk about stating the obvious.
I dont get how its a "lucky punch" What do you think Lee was trying to do when he threw that punch. His face was up, he was looking at Jackson...it was a great punch!
