Tickets on Saturday. Looks an ambitious but workable vision for Titanic Quarter. It's gonna be fantastic IMO.

got a reply from barry about the venue...

    ClassicBoxingSociety ‏@SocietyBoxing 23m
@ClonesCyclone will the venue for carl be totally enclosed with a roof...or will it be open-air with only the ring covered ?...thanks

    Barry McGuigan ‏@ClonesCyclone 13m
@SocietyBoxing It's outside only the ring and a section on the inner ringside will be covered. #boxing

    You're on the ball Doug!
This is exactly what I don't want to hear.I don't fancy the way they are gambling with the irish weather for the sake of a few thousand more bums on (possibly wet) seats.
Always preferred the Odessy, guaranteed quality facilities, comfort, seating, plus you can't beat an enclosed roofed-over arena for atmosphere. :-(

Personally I was quite happy to pay a few bob over the odds for that.

small tip for anyone going look for a hotel or digs to stay in near the venue.

the nearest place is premier inn which is just right about next to where the fight will be from what they tell me and also just a five minute walk to city centre.

now...here's the thing...try and book that for that day and its sold out.....normally they are 29 quid rooms.....nearest in a four mile radius would be up to nearly 100 sterling that night......but....if you go to premierinn.com and book for 2 nights, say the saturday and sunday, rooms are available NOW...it will be 58 pounds though......but that is still cheaper than other options i have found...with the added advantage of top location and having a decent lie-in on sunday morning without worrying about check-out times if you go on the beer after the fight the night before.

    anyway...just saying.

A big show in the south is long overdue, although to look for a world title shot (as reported elsewhere) for Macklin may be a bit premature,
Great time for Macklin and his fighting style but in fairness he has had three cracks at the world title and has been stopped in his last two so expecting him to get a straight shot at the world belt is a bit strange,
Would love to see an eliminator between him and Murray though,That would be a brilliant all action affair and should sell easy,
I think the Andy Lee Matthew Macklin ship has sailed for now with andy at 154 and looking for a shot at one of those champions,
