Met Jamie today. "Interviewed by RTE and all they asked about was my brother then left!" Also bemused by the 'Michael Conlan is going pro after Rio - wow!' coverage. Not an open secret, in fact he's said this in the media dozens upon dozens of times. I reckon RTE & Co actually want all amateurs to 'turn pro' ASAP so they no longer have to provide what limited coverage they do now.

Was at the show tonight, very good. Bazza, Whitehouse, Carroll, and Creagh all in entertaining fights. And Lynn Harvey, destroyed her opponent and the support she had was unreal! If she can retain that she will be a fixture on all small hall shows in the future
He WILL step up l b.....too big a step up. Paul butler to be exact. Butler will go through conlon like poo thru a goose.
I go by my own judgement fra. You should know that....and my judgement says conlon gets murdered v butler.....if .and it's a big if....conlon is ever going to reach butlers level, he won't do it by sourcing opponents from his local tatoo parlour, which seems to be what happened here.
I know you Irish boxing fans are very nationalistically loyal, but if you're watching the Dublin card you're missing a great one in Monte Carlo.
We still have the Irish welterweight fight coming up, and that should be a good one... hopefully But the rest has been brutal. Wasn't even aware of the card in Monte Carlo, or that Provodnikov was on it.
