    How ye lads,

Preview of the DolPhil show coming up on Cormac's site in the next while. I gotta say, it looks like excellent value. €80, €50 and €20 for under 16s and students. And a chance to see Garcia in action again.

Anyone else on for meeting up with myself and Paddy? (If he can convince his bird that the boxing will finish before the nightclub, ha ha. I salute your courage, Patrick, I couldn't ever convince a lass to even watch the boxing with me, not to mind come along to it. )

I hear people saying that Duddy shouldn't be next or near a ring with Kelly Pavlik? Bollox, he sells tickets and TV revenue and has reinvigorated the Irish-American public's attitude towards boxing.

If I was offered a job in Sky News right now, I probably would be in over my head. Would I take it? Damn right, glorious chances like that don't come around that often, if ever. I'd make the best of it, and would work harder than I ever have to be a success. I say go for it, John, and what's more, the Walid Smichet fight was a freak. Duddy is not as bad as that fight suggested, nor is Kelly Pavlik as awesome as we thought.

Final thoughts - Well done to Brian Peters for securing the world title shot for Dunne. Frank Maloney was well cheeky with what he was saying about Peters - what has Maloney, Irish-born, ever done for boxing in this country? Peters put his cash on the line - without him there'd be no professional boxing revolution in the country right now. I'm delighted that we will have the first world title fight on Irish soil in twelve long years.

i think if he advertises it well and gets a good undercard it could get a good crowd i'll be there with bells on anyway.

here podge...any news on garcias opponent...i have a boxing buddy...who is also a heavy ****ing gambler...he read an article in boxing news where a journalist claimed after watching garcia spar he was convinced he was looking at a future world champion...apparently this is the first time he ever got this gut feeling about a novice pro...the journalist got 12to1 odds on garcia becoming champion of any of the 4 major title belts...well my mate went out and got similar odds...and put 2 grand..sterling pounds btw on the same bet...he says if the bet comes up in a couple of years time...he will lift around £25,ooo...**** nice earnings..if u can afford that sort of dough on a bet...i couldnt afford £2 atm ...never mind £2,000:good

Do you have a link to the Star article? I'v only been able to find articles that refer to that star article. I'd like to read the original source here.
