how difficult is a faded donaire ...surely Frampton cant fall at this fence

 

Well for those who literally can't resist writing boxers off prematurely...for those who pounce on every "fault", such as those who wrote him off after his supposedly catastrophic performance vs Alejandro Gonzalez ( actually an excellent really skilful display ), and the same mob who recently condemned his last performance (again a fine bit of kboxing against another teak tough Mexican warrior)....those sort of people probably DO think he will fall at this fence, Fra.
The rest of us, no. Don't get me wrong. A puncher is always dangerous. Donnaire WAs/is a great fighter, and this is his "last chance saloon". For that reason alone he is a real threat. But Carl will win and look good.
But as I've said before, I don't consider Carl to have the size or style for success at featherweight and I feel I have to point that unpalatable fact out again here.

Speaking of Luke... Any updates on how he is getting on with his prep for Cummings.? I'd have thought we'd be hearing more about him from Joe etc...

Lots of people say Valdez is 'very beatable'. Why do you say so?

 

going by the fact he seems to have made hard work of his last couple of defences... on paper those opponents should have been easier dealt with

I just think people are being a bit hard on Valdez. Some opponents just ARE hard work. Quigg was the size of a light welter in there and we know how fit and tough he is. There's no easy way to beat a big strong tough opponent....as Carl found out with Quigg too and again recently with Horacio Garcia.

Or ask pretty much any opponent of your friend Tennyson ...another good example of a "size bully" who is blessed with freaky size at the weight. There's a lot of it about these days with the day-before weigh in thing going on. Initially I supported the day before weigh ins but now I'm not so sure....

 

Valdez has a history with Irish opponents. He beat Davey Oliver on points a few years ago and then JJ Nevin beat him on points in London.

Hes sparred Mick Conlan a few times aswel.

Think a fight with Frampton would be a foty contender. Would genuinley love to see both very similar fighters and would be a real 50/50.
