Yeah only saw now on the sky + Bernard was chugging a lot of water after the fight. He was desperate for an auld bit of H2O. Can't blame him after what he put in.

Makes me think even more that the whole weight and conditioning/nutrition was calculated to the last ounce of 0.000001% degree of accuracy. They got it perfectly. I'd say if you ****ed it up even slightly it would be a disaster but they did their job to perfection.

I had a look at the WBA ratings and I'd like to see him in the Point against Lontchi. I wouldn't give Munroe a shot after Maloney lipping off all week. Munroe had the chance to take this fight and passed on it so hard cheese for a gummy mouse is what I say!

Not surprised at the judges scoring. You can make a case for Cordoba being in front (if you are a myopic judge as so many seem to be) but not by a big margin I'll add.

Since I'm awake and will be for a while I'll have a go at the way the judges may have scored it.


Round 1: Cordoba 10-9
Round 2: Even 10-10 (20-19) *** we'd give it to Dunne
Round 3: Dunne 10-8 (28-29)
Round 4: Even 10-10 (38-39) *** we'd give it to Dunne
Round 5: Cordoba 10-7 (48-46)
Round 6: Cordoba 10-9 (58-55) *** we'd give it Even
Round 7: Cordoba 10-9 (68-64) *** we'd give it Even
Round 8: Even 10-10 (78-74) *** we'd give it to Dunne
Round 9: Dunne 10-9 (87-84)
Round 10: Cordoba 10-9 (97-93)

Now if Cordoba had made it through round 11 it would have been 10-7 Dunne. Making it a 1 point gap at most on any sane judges scorecard.

Just a note there. I don't agree with that scoring. With the benefit of hindsight (and knowing there is a happy ending) I have it 95-94 to Bernard after 10 rounds. Add in a 10-7 round (if Cordoba had have made it) and I would have had him 4 points up going into a 12th round where as I have no doubt a judge may have had him 4 points down.

**** off and die you horrible ****s. Where did that come from. I made a case for some bad judging having Cordoba 4 points up but 6 and 7 points up? Go **** yourselfs you shower of syphillis riddled **** munchers. That means even with a massive 11th Bernard would have needed another double KD in the 12th to snatch a draw on 1 judges cards. ****S!!!

Good man Bernard you did the business and thank **** too. There would have been a riot if they had read those cards out had it gone the distance

The thing to do will be watch a fight like Marchiano then watch this one. I'd say it will highlight the difference in power unbelievably.

Thats it for me, the strength. Yes he has heart and courage, we all knew that. And he had the skill to boot. But the man was so much stronger.

Not sticking the boot in or anything but he must have never really, really gone all out with training before. He was flat out working hard for 12 weeks and it came through with a massive improvement. It really is incredible just how much stronger he was.

 

Lads, I seldom speak on these threads so forgive me if I go too over the top here, but that was one of the best fights I have seen in many many years. I will admit that before the fight I did state that I thought dunne would not have enough to beat Cordoba and that it would go to the scorecards with a Panamanian victrory.
I was however, as ever, supporting Dunne like every Irishman and woman in the country tonight to the last second and have to say that tonight he proved me wrong and all his doubters wrong that he is truly world class!!
I therefore would like to congratulate Bernard Dunne in such a magnificent display of heart, courage, and skill and wish him all the suuccess in his future fights.
Along with the rugby team today, you have made Irish people more proud to be Irish than even that on St Patricks day...

P.S I really hope Cordoba was ok, he looked pretty bad on the stretcher on the way out

Also, for non RTE viewers tonight, without hyping this up, this was literally the fight of the year. 11 rounds (fully 2min 59 sec), 6 knock downs and 40 minutes of absolute bravery, skill and heart that I have ever seen. Without getting to morbid(or whatever the word is), this fight was basically the Irish version of Benn Vs Mclellann

 

best night of my life anyone else agree . ****in pissed here jus cant believe the performance dunne put in . bring on vazquez and marquez
