but from a money point of view...would he make as much dosh from challenging for another title as he would defending his own ?

 

dunno bout that but theres definitely not as many big money fights at featherweight.and if he did step up would he be made WBA mandatory?that would mean fighting chris john who i thought was very good against juarez and imo won the fight

can someone clear something up for me please. im an irish boxing fan and follow irish boxing/boxers but i never understand why irish fans get excited about macklin and mcloskey are they not english? and if there of irish descent do they consider themselves irish? also why do lads on here **** themselves when theres talk about the cuban lads. if someone could clear this up for me it would be well appreciated. cheers

 

mackins parents are irish and considers himself irish.mccloskey is from the 6 counties which means hes irish and the cubans lived in cork and trained in the local clubs we no there not irish but its the same as the germans claiming the klitchenco sisters

 

thanks for clearng that up. i work for brian peters and always wondered how he would have got involved with mccloskey and macklin if they were born and bread english. didnt know mccloskey was a northy lad either.atsch Read comments on youtube after the rogan skelton fight where a load of english lads were giving it loads that the 'english government' in the north had paid money (social welfare etc) to rogan growing up and he may as well spit in their face by wearing tricolour shorts and boots, funny ****.

 

McCloskey is Irish, Matthew Macklin considers himself Irish, has Irish parents, fought for the Irish title, etc
I see what you mean about the Cubans though, I personally wouldn't go out of my way to see them fight, nothing against them, but I would prefer to support my fellow Irish men instead of 3 Cubans who will probably end up in the US anyway.
