I think theres no rush with lindsay let him take 2 o 3 more fights at a decent level , hopefully with setanta at home ( i can see setanta back in ulster) .
I think after those he will be far better off , he needs a bit more experience at that level.
That show last night went too **** paddy . Funny enough though

Sorry I have had no coverage on the weekends action on irish-boxing. Have had a problem with the computers that I hope to (finally) have resolved in the next couple of days. Have some great stuff. Interviews with David Haye, Lindsay, Adam Booth, Rogan, McCloskey, Paddy Barnes, Tommy McCarthy, Steve Bunce and Luke Wilton. Frustrating stuff.

Im not writing him off but its frustrating when he loses to the likes of Billy Lyell, Lyell is no bum but he was another hand-picked opponent who was supposed to aid in Duddy's learning process.Look at the big picture - Duddy lost to a C-Level fighter in his 26th fight - it looks like he is learning **** all. What happened to his jab,its supposed to be one of the best in the division.
I think having 4 different trainers in such a short period has been detrimental to Duddy, he is supposed to be a good listener and a hard worker so why has he taken a step back? Its time to live by the sword or die by the sword.

Sorry for the rant, im just a bit pissed off with the whole situation

A lousy situation for any fan of Duddys. I was going to say, (half kiddingly)that If I were him(Duddy), and wanted to keep on boxing, Id either go home, or grab a fistful of cash and head out to Youngstown and " beg" Jack Lowe to train me at light-middle. Then I read Lowe's comments. UGH! PRETTY CLASSLESS. He said Duddy got his "ass handed to him by a b-level fighter". Calling his own guy B-level! Like he had more animosity toward J.D. then just being glad for Lyell's win.
I think this guy is a GREAT trainer, (He had Pavlic, I think before the Miranda fight, pushing a pick up truck for city blocks. I love that type of old school stuff!);). But as far as social skills?. What I hate about boxing, when your guy loses to somebody ya can't stand or who rubs it in etc.
I remember under Harry Keit, Duddy used to take 100 swings with a sledge hammer at, I think a truck tire after every workout. Thats the type of stuff that helps when you have to really dig deep. And before this fight, he's swimming in a pool in Miami beach.
Has he made any public statements yet? If I have to give up on him, I'll just have to switch all my middleweight allegience to Macklin.;)
But I'll always be an eternal optimist for any Irish kid who laces on a pair of gloves:good

Sorry Mike, absolutely detest Jack Lowe, and would be one of the last trainers on my list were I a pro. Cant give him too much credit for Pavlik either since he is just a 1-2 guy with a wicked punch, something you cant teach. Lowe in the B-Hop fight was disgraceful. Anyway, Duddy needs a rematch if he has any hopes of reviving his career on the big stage. The trainer issue is worrying, after hearing of all these improvements being made with Burns then that performance, i dont know where from here. We cant keep blaming the trainers either, but, Duddy cannot bar brawl his way through all his fights, nor as is now clear, can he box his way. Lets hope it was just a bad night.

Dont worry , i didnt take it the wrong way, but as i was gathering my thoughts on Duddy i just got a bit heated - from the start of all the bull**** with Irish Ropes to his loss the other night Duddy's career has gone into freefall.I feel bad for the lad, i think he needs to get his **** together asap and make a few quid while he can
