This happens sometimes. Dunne and Peters put in so much work effort and money for years to become a world champion that now they have achieved it they may not be 100% sure what to do next.
It stinks for the other lads though, its not just Peters though it looks like the Hyland card will be the only one on the entire summer.
On a side topic any feedback on the fallout between Garcia and Hyde.Is Garcia sweeping the roads of cork city or has Gary forgiven but i doubt forgotten.

terrible opponent for Andy Lee. Its backwards he's going. They easily could have got him to fight someone better, even one of the undefeated guys who beat Fedotovs. I thought the Latvians would be for Sutherland to batter while ad******g to the pro game, for the likes of Jamie Power to have a good scrap with but not as an opponent for someone as highly regarded as Andy Lee.

I know where your coming from, and the thing is after the Dunne win I expected even greater coverage of boxing on RTE, but instead we have have had sweet FA:patsch

That ungreatful Cuban ******* should be sent on a 1 way ticket back to Havana:deal

Yeah man, its about time Lee stepped it up.:thumbsup

just lookin at lees opponent there.it took him 9 rds to ko marcin piatkowski who spike ko'ed in 1 rd....i have a feelin andy will ko this guy early and possibly have 2 or 3 fights in the next 3 months. i am predicting he will then have one or possibly two big ones before the year is out and then he will make waves in the division in 2010

I hope your right there mossy

Just checking out Mbaye record. Very Impressive. McCloskey will need to be at his best to beat this guy.

thats why im quite worried. paul isnt exactly a concussive puncher and m'baye has never been stopped so i dont know why a few on here have been predicting it. hope im wrong though.

there seems to be a staleness about irish boxing at the moment, with our fighters either losing (rogan duddy) not fighting at all or fighting people they are clearly well better than. peters needs to get his finger out and even have a few smaller shows on rte in the late summer.

Exactly, "stay busy" fights are at least meant to give fighters a good work-out and slight challenge, Lee will crush this kid and come off no better after the fight than he was before.

Garcia has realised the error of his ways but Hyde has not forgive or indeed forgotten.

Garcia messed up that 5 fight tv deal in spain. I expect to see Mike Perez back in the ring before Garcia even gets a chance to lace up the gloves in anger and rightly so!
