Just been informed the fights being shown will be Dunne (duh) and Tyson Fury with Jamie Power/Michael Sweeney in between
Jaysus they took long enough to make up their mind. I'd guess the arguing was over the 3rd fight. Fury was pretty much nailed on once he was put on the card. He wasn't coming over to fight if he wasn't going to be on the box. At least Sweeney/Power are going to get some exposure.
Haven't had internet in a few days but anyway. I always told people who'd listen Macklin was class, and in the last 2 fights he's proved he's for real. He can beat any middleweight on his day. Dunne v Poonsawat should be a ******* tonight, even if the fight isn't explosive you know that the crowd(even if it isn't sold out) atmosphere and nervous energy will make it enthralling. I'm starting to fancy Dunne to do the job tonight, Poonsawat is there to be hit and controlled with the jab. Normally I'm wrong when I really fancy an Irish fighter to win, hence I've £20 on Poonsawat. I would be delighted to see that money go.....
Did you get the fight line-up yet Paddy. i heard it was pretty much. 1. Oisin ***an 2. Stephen Haughian 3. Pajo Hyland 4. Power vs Sweeney 5. Tyson Fury 6. Anthony Fitzgerald 7. Bernard Dunne. Possible Rte line up.... Broadcast starts @ 9.30 and the usual intro and so on. 9.45 Tyson Fury in ring live resulting in a round 1 knock out, Maybe rd 2 if the guy is lucky. 10.00 Highlights of Power vs Sweeney, 10.30 Highlights of Pajo Hyland 10.50 Warm up for Bernard Dunne and how he beat Cordoba and so on. 11.00 Bernard Dunne entrance, National Anthems and so on 11.15 First Bell ( 11.30 Dunne Ko'd) 12.30 Braodcast Ends.....
I wonder if Andy Lee will be asked by Dara Maloney about Macklin. Because I saw the recording of the last fight where Macklin said he would take him on. I guess they will ask Andy about that tonight!! I think Dunne has a decent reach advantage on Poonsawat if he can run for the first round or 2 and get the jab going might be ok. If ponsawat takes the first 3 rounds I'd hate to think Dunne will go chasing him!
Pajo should be main support. The way it is going I think the Dunne fight could well start before 11 o clock tonight. I think there will be a fair few KOs out of the fights on the undercard. So I expect a in ring interview with Macklin if he is at the fight and some Sutherland video package for him in the RTE programe time aswell to kill off a bit of time sorry for the pun. Best get ready be there or be square.
Thanks for posting. Sweet left hook, wow! (from a lad who looks like an Irish Altar boy. For a second, That looked like Freddie Roach in Askinen's corner...:huh Anyway, Go on Bernie Dunne, Make it a double. (R.I.P. Darren Sutherland, and prayers and condolences for his family)
