I hope your sources are overexaggerating paddy, or else we could have another billy lyell debacle. I dont know what is wrong with Duddy he doesnt seem to interested in pursuing the american route for his career now. I'd say the irish ropes problems left a sour taste in the mouth.:think

hope lee has a big name clash- the only worry id have not just with Lee but with most boxers now-to keep the boxing revival going fights have to appeal to the general public not just boxing fans...Looks like we wont have any fighting on Irish TV now- and just as the scene is heating up- stars could and should have been cultivated on Dunne undercards and RTE may have taken them on in their own right too!! I just heard the other day TV3 turn down the rights to Dunnes fights! Id say they are going mad now-

I just checked ticketmaster the Andy Lee fight is not advertised any more. It was supposed to be sponsored by yang ying beer and they have been added as a sponsor on Brian Peters website. He did mention it during commentary of the Dunne fight! Hopefully it will go ahead. based on pure speculation I'm guessing it is either 1 of Brian Vera, Walid Smichet or Howard Eastman. But if it were top 30 could it be mr Zbik? or else I'm just way off. Hate being teased like this!!

It's important also, that Peters gets TV exposure for some of the rest of our boxers. Boxing on RTE must continue if Irish professional boxing is to thrive.Irish boxing has taken a bit of a battering in the last couple of weeks with the death of Darren Sutherland and the defeat of Dunne, but there are other boxers that Peters can promote here. McCloskey is now with Sky, Haughian might go the same route if he impresses on the Meadowbank bill. But Peters can still deal with Lee, the Hylands, Dean Bryne and Andy Murray for starters. Peters needs to start looking at some of our amateur talent, and entice them to turn over, as there is an abundance of talent there to be exploited. The ball is most firmly at Peters feet, and if he is serious about advancing boxing in Ireland, he needs to act now.

Agree with that. I would pay €50 to see any 2 of the above mentioned fighters on the same card. Ideally Peters can take a punt on Barnes turning pro or Nevin after London 2012.
