is hopkins overrated?

    He's not overrated. Even at 43 he's one of the best and though he lost two close decisions to Taylor because he had the wrong gameplan it was still painfully obvious when watching those fights that he is a much better fighter. People think Dawson would beat Hopkins at LHW but its just speculation. Noone has comfortably beaten Hopkins in his career apart from a prime RJJ, who is one of the best fighters of all time.

    At 43 logic tells us that Hopkins' skills are on a rapid decline, but there's no evidence to point us towards this.

    He treats his body like a temple and trains 365 days a year. His stamina is incredible! That Hopkins has more left in the tank at the end of fights than his younger opponents is an absolute marvel.

    Hopkins truly would have been perfectly suited for 15 rounders.

    Most of his more rabid fans overrate his present capabilities.

    However, he is an ATG and probably one of the top five middlewts ever.

    I'm not a big Hopkins fan but what you said is just plain fact. - can't argue with that:good

    His resume definately. But his ability was there for all to see and his longevity is mightly impressive.
