After the first round, Khan punches rarely phased peterson, this lack of 'respect' for his power, is what in my view cost him the fight. Most opponenets he has beat convincingly, or knocked out are often shocked by the explosive speed early on. Maidana struggled early on, as did peterson, is khans peak window the first couple of rounds? I believe so, or is it more case of the type of punches that some fighters are able to better absorb?
I don't think he has a glass jaw, but he seems to have more problems with punches hitting his temple!
I think he just bothers people early because they don't see the punches at all but after that once they get used to it and he slows a bit he's ineffective. I don't see why he has to throw 8 punch combos, wouldn't he just be better off throwing a 3 punch combination with some real precision.
not featherfisted at all, just doesnt plant his feet and sometimes pulls his punches, he has good pop, and he certainly hurt peterson once or twice, feather fisted is the likes of a malignaggi
He has a Glass Jaw and is hurt by every single punch that lands solidly on him, even from pillow punchers like Peterson. He has no Chin and it isn't debatable. Also, Glass Jaw doesn't mean that one is susceptible to only punches on the Chin, it means that one cannot take head shots whatsoever. Khan is a glorified amateur fighter and a joke.
No, he scored a legit knockdown in the first round and rocked Peterson badly with a right hand late in the fight (in about the 8 or 9th round I think). When he plants his feet he has good pop.
No, the KD's were legit and he hurt Peterson in the 9th or the tenth pretty badly. If he sits down, he would punch much better. Peterson described it as 'shocking power'. It catches you by surprise at times.
Anybody see maidana crumble in pain from bodyshot? Anybody see him KO salita? Anybody watch him Make Judah cry? Anybody see peterson's swollen eye? no? humm////
Not feather fisted, but his technique is atrocious. Among the worst I've ever seen from any title holder. It's worse than Mayorga's was and I'm being dead serious.
No, but Khan throws a lot of arm punches. When he sits on his shots they hurt, but he seems so sloppy and relies on his speed too much which means he rarely sits on shots.
