Pun and his team said they are sticking to the same gameplan that won them 39 fights. Last night Pun looked sloppy imho. Is that the best Pun can bring to the ring? Or was that merely 1st fight back after KO jitters/rust? I sincerely hope Pun can bring a better performance than last nights. Right now, if Pun faced Sergio again, I'd be very nervous for Pun making it out of 6 rounds... Thoughts? :blood

Look at Hatton after the Mayweather defeat, he looked like **** VS Lazcano (or whatever his name was) then looked great outboxing Malignaggi after that. It's not easy to come back after a KO loss and look your best.
No, he's a shot fighter and IMO has been becoming shot for a LONG time now. Every fight he's been in, he's taken a huge amount of punches. That's why I think that second Quintana fight was a fluke. Every fight since Margarito has been a war and he is virtually finished now. He was dominated. He can't beat any of the 154 title holders like Cotto, maybe Bundrage but not even sure about that. Never been impressed by Williams, years been scratching my head about what the hell was the big deal about him. A tall volume puncher who you give a little movement too his volume drops and takes a disgusting amount of punishment every fight. Also always laughed about people begging him to change a style he used for his whole career at age 30 and he'll become "unbeatable"...Ugh, no. Listen to him speak, he doesn't sound intelligent in boxing IQ and his trainer Peterson may be the stupidest trainer of all time. That interview afterwards disgusted me so much, if he decides to go back in the ring, I look forward to him being planked again.

To me he's definitely not the same fighter he used to be. And it's really only going to get worse from here on out as Peterson apparently wasn't bluffing with his dumb ass about not changing anything from the Martinez KO.There's literally a blueprint out due to their unwillingness to keep a hand up. If Lara had more power Paul would have been out of there.
I'd say he's finished competing with the elite level guys. He may want to think about retiring, though I doubt he will. His style makes for a short career. You just can't get hit that much and stick around long.
He got utterly schooled in this last fight and won an absolutely disgusting piece of **** decision. The guy is the stupidest boxer at this level that I can remember, ever. He's still the same thing that he's always been -- a knockout waiting to happen. He was severely rocked by a jab last night, and hit at will with overhand lefts. For his own sake, he doesn't need to fight Martinez again or he will be flattened very quickly.
I'll be with the minority and still believe Williams has time to regroup and start fresh with a new team and make some noise again within 2 years. But he really needs someone like Steward who could work with his height and reach esp. with his jab that can become such a valuable tool with these smaller fighters.
When a fighter doesn't improve during his career it's usually because of one or two things. He is hard-headed or his trainer is garbage. Williams' trainer seems to lack a lot of valuable boxing smarts. He seems to just like to see people fight. How about teaching your student how to box. There is a difference ya know.
It might be too late... and besides Williams has been in many pretty brutal fights for such a young guy.
Williams style is great for TV but not great for him. If anyone had tought him how to jab and fight off the backfoot. He would not be as exciting of proformer as he has been. However from 147-160 the weights he has fought at, with his height and reach he would be as close to unbeatable as anyone can get.
