I know he is southern and talks with that type of dialect, but it seems more extreme now like marbles in his mouth. Is he getting punchdrunk or just an idiot?
Everyone loved him as a commentator but tbh i had no idea what he was saying half the time, that was quite a while ago, nothing changed.
I simply couldn't understand him. I picked out the odd word and knew what he was trying to say but it was a struggle.
Nah...he has sounded like that for YEARS!!! Nothing more than any other fighter. Less if anything (when you take into account how many fights he has been in).

Except for those ko's where he was completely unconcious. Cant forget those. Its sad that foreign non english speaking fans (as a first language) are more articulate than rjj.
yeah he can speak clearly when he wants to. but when he gets into that dialect speak, i only understood a couple words tops. im glad it wasn't only me that thought that lol. thought i was going deaf!
Anyone who isn't a total idiot themselves could understand perfectly what he was saying when commentating for HBO.
He is one of the best commentators out there. Roy just reverts to that southern twang when he gets into hyping himself.
