Yes because his history in the sport.

No because he is incorrect as often as the worst posters on this forum. Perhaps more. Probably more often.

He seems to have used to been credible up till lately. In the past he: was from the school of cus D'Amato, against Freddie Roach, the school of Eddie Futch during the tim Bradley Manny Pacquiao fight. In those days he was oozing of knowledge. He got Timmy into excellent shape. As a tv commentator/ analyst he was spot on with the big problems that go on in boxing. In fact he was too real, losing his spot with ESPN, no shame in that. He even got the ball rolling to start a "boxing league", much like the NBA , NHL, NFL, etc etc with senator John McCain as possible president, nothing wrong with that.

These days he seems to be obsessed with MMA, I don't blame him, more better competition, better fights, speaks to the volumes about what courage and the human condition are like. What seem to be lacking in boxing today with everybody either protected, fighting sparring sessions, or no o wants to go, plus zhitty match making, from money grubbing promoters, the last generation of everyone fighting everyone is over. No more Pac, Cotto, jjm, Morales, Hopkins, Barrera, Mosley, Oscar, Floyd. I can see where hes coming from BUT

I guarantee this: he was a gem for the average boxing fan or fans of the sport but he is approaching his hey day. We better appreciate him now because it won't be long till he's gone. Another legacy of a dude like for instance Lennox Lewis, not fully appreciated during his career, but having an aura of invincibility when retired, especially on boxing messageboards.

But I take the bitter with the sweet, the pendulum sways both ways, he did have negative quirks in his personality, hot headed, ex street kid, selfish, out for the money, focused on the negative ... He did serve time in Rikers island, did have his body hit up badly in the streets, making uncool round breaks for Michael Moorer, also leaving cus when he wasn't the star no more. Not to mention the Mike Tyson stuff, you know? To sum it up, some random dude told Donny Lalonde that he (Mr anonymous) was friends with teddy at one of their banquet s for charity. Lalonde responded "well, then I feel sorry for you." Nuff said.

Honestly for me Teddy makes the occasional good point but mostly talks nonsense. His biggest claim to fame was Mike Tyson and working under Cus…. But Cus was the one who really guided Mike while Teddy just followed the orders Cus would give him. Other then that I really can’t think of any fighter he’s ever started with from scratch and brought to a title. All of the fighters he worked with were already established, and all he seemed to do was try and steal the spotlight and come out with long winded stories he thinks make him witty.

    No, he's a bum.

Half of his observations are obvious stuff, and wrapped in hack poeticism and ludicrous similes - like overcooked scallops in blankets of undercooked bacon. The other half are just bad takes steeped in his own bitter personal biases.

Predicting fights he's probably the goto guru for having it completely wrong. He would probably be dead last in Kirk's thread.

But he obviously has a lot of knowledge when it comes to technique, tactics and training.
