Is Tito underrated?

    IMO, Tito was a "throwback" to the mid-70's type welters when he was in his prime....and was on TV a lot.

    His legacy seems to be slipping now.

    He could end up like Cuevas.....well respected only by
    those who remember his great k.o.'s

    Dont think he was underated. He was a big strong welterweight which made up for some of his shortcomings as a boxer. His style was somewhat one dimensional and that became more apparent once he moved up in weight.

    He´s getting a bit underated these days. Just like DLH and Mosley get a bit overated.

    I think he is. Nobody is going to portray him as something that he wasn't, ie a master technician. But what he was was one of the all time great finishers and accurate as hell with his power-shots. He was effective with what he did. His major shortcoming was never learning to cut off the ring.

    no i dont think he is underated ,he was a very good fighter but not an ATG

    Nah. He's remembered now for what he was - a very very good fighter, but not a truly great one.

    Pretty much it.

    The word great is thrown around way too much these days in all sports - Trinidad wasn't what I'd call GREAT.

    Being almost great isn't anything to be ashamed of.
