    Grrrr....

I'm a big fan of Laguna as a fighter.

You can say what you like about him, but at the end of the day he arguably beat prime versions of Locche, Ortiz and Buchanan (I thought Ismael took the first Buchanan fight and the first Ortiz fight).

And that's on top of very good wins against the likes of Ramos, Suzuki, Hernandez, Urbina.

How many less than outstanding fighters can boast such feats?

It's more of an aesthetic thing with Laguna. I just loved his style. So cat quick, smooth, and skilled at his best. His footwork and lateral movement was captivating to say the least, probably my favorite part of his game. His performance against Ortiz in their first bout was brilliant, Laguna at his best against the highest class of fighter.

Also though, while Ken was more reknowned as someone who could tough it out in the trenches with the best, I think that aspect of Laguna's game is underrated. His speed, reflexes, and countering ability made him very formidable during short exchanges, where he'd often get the better of even the more highly regarded in-fighters, so long as he didn't hang around too long.

A matchup between Laguna and Whitaker at each other's respective best is a mouth-watering prospect for sweet science fans.

For sure, I didn't mean to sound depricating about him at all, I just disagree with you about Buchanan-Laguna I.

As an aside, guys who really, really know boxing really seem to love this guy.

That's all good and well, but let's stick to topic.

BTW, I'm in Germany right now and the goddamn computers suck! Everything is on a different place on the keyboard. Germany is great though. But let's stick to topic.

Hey, no **** though, the food is great.

My brother just married his Polish-German girlfriend and we flew over for 10 days to celebrate. I love it here, and the German girls love Americans, lemme tell you. I've been playing the 'last night in Germany' card for about 5 nights straight now.

yeh the first Buchanan fight is close bu i had Ken pinching it by a round but it coulda went either way but i think Ken finished stronger and thats what one him the fight

no doubt about it hes an outstanding boxer and the 1st fight with Ortiz was brillaint he made him fight his fight and outboxed him

ive just started watching Laguna, i have saw the Buchanan fights before but now im watching the ortiz and ramos fights and he really is great, in the trenches Laguna was good but as you say longer trades and he started to get beat up

his movement, positioning and balance is top notch and as you say a Pea fight would be outstanding

Ask Sweet Pea all about Laguna. He'll tell you all the factual evidence about him. He'll even tell you how many left hooks Laguna threw in his entire career.
