Its been almost a year since "Magnifico" was last in action (The war with Marquez) Does anyone know whats happening with him? Theres lots of fights out there for him Caballero, Juanma, Penalosa, Gonzalez to name a few..

I know Juanma is fighting Penalosa soon in which I feel Juanma will destroy the WBO Bantamweight champion who shocked the world in beating Jhonny Gonzalez back in 2007, Gonzalez has since gone 6 fights unbeaten and looks ready for a World title shot later this year however Vasquez has already defeated Gonzalez in what was a very enthralling fight but i doubt he will want to go over old ground.

So will Vasquez fight the winner of Juanma-Penalosa? If i was his promoter I would go for Caballero who I feel is ripe for a KO and then take on Juanma in a Super fight. Any thoughts?

I would have to reserve judgment until after he has a tune-up.

I heard he was supposed to be fighting on the 23rd April against Lunas but I haven't heard anything since.

I wouldn't be so dismissive of Penalosa-Lopez. Penalosa is a very skilled operator with a good defence. I can't see him being blown away like recent opponents. Lopez's one major problem is lack of footwork and mobility. Penalosa could be a horrible little opponent for him.

That is quite true, I'm a big fan of Penalosa i have seen him fight numerous times and although i don't think he will be blazed in 1 or 2 rounds by Lopez i feel Lopez will be too strong and powerful for him. Penalosa is very small for Super-Bantam and if Lopez can detonate some of those bombs on Penalosa or anyone for that matter then its good night irene.
