Glad I missed that- must have been terrible to watch at ringside. Tricky to know where Cotto goes from here but he is a clever guy and will know when to hang them up.. unlike Hatton
Yep, I hope he faces Mosley again, or maybe Margarito sans (allegedly) loaded gloves. Cotto's a good fighter and a great human being. Hope he bounces back.
Cotto is a very good fighter and one of my favorites. I am now flying home from Vegas and am barely starting to get over how devastated I was after it. I think he has several holes in his game that need to bee fixed before he can beat Pac or Pbf, but he can do it. He needs to stop hitting reverse so much during tough fights. That's a big mistake usually made by people without the experience to realize it doesn't work unless you're a defensive wiz. This fight exposed his flaws and he is a very smart fighter who will make the necessary adjustments.
I missed that one, must be a sad day for PR too. But be proud guys, he's a class act and still a good WW. He can bounced back from this...

This culture of unblemished records is a cancer to boxing. So he's lost twice, big deal. true champions are the ones who keep fighting
He should fight Margarito again. If Cotto beats Margarito badly say by knockout or something, that will make him feel great.
Hats off to Cotto. Mentaly, this loss is going to be devastating. He sould take a long break and think real hard before trying to fight again. I would hate to see him really get hurt.
I didnt get a chance to see that bit. Sounds reminiscent of the Margarito fight, when a bloodied and bruised Cotto was filmed backstage walking to his room, and his little clone of a son (skinheaded one) chasing after him. He is such a warrior, taking back to back fights against ridiculously tough opposition. He deserves endless amount of credit for his mentality I think. I hope he doesnt allow this to be his last meaningful fight, because I believe if he makes the necessary adjustments (a change in head trainer), he will do himself a world of good. He cannot let anyone convince him he is incapable of fighting at the highest level again, he needs someone who can raise his confidence, and make him believe that he still has much to offer. Couple of names spring to mind, Nazim Richards (although that seems a little unlikely), or Nacho. The latter seems more probable, due to stylistic compatibility, and of course less restrictive language barriers.
