Theres a difference between Ethnicity and Nationality.

Im ethnically English, thats one think Itauma cant be. Nationality is defined by legal bond and citizenship for instance what passport you hold and where you were raised.

 

He pushed Hrgovic off the stage for no apparent reason but apparantly that warrants the classic old line, "we Brits love to knock em down and be negative". It's got naff all to do with that and that line should be banned for people who don't use it in the correct context.

If someone like Conor Bent or Billy Joe pushed someone off the stage for no apparant reason, everyone would be calling them out. It's cnt behaviour. Don't touch your opponent until fight night. Apparantly if you don't jump up and down like a mnkey and support that behaviour, then it's just Brits being negative for no reason.

 

All looked staged to sell the fight. Weak push and a weak slap, no real efforts from security to pull them back and the smack talk was embarrassing. We know there is little hype for the fight, this smacks of an attempt to drum up last minute publicity.

Hrgovic seasoning and chin got the job done there.

Itauma’s inexperience was his undoing. He blew his bolt trying to get rid of him

 

Gas tank and chin are genetic problems. See similarities between him and David Price, when the next heavyweight comes along they won't hesitate to let their hands go to put him down. Shades of Price vs Old Grandpa Tony Thompson.

I think it was a very winnable fight had he not got greedy after 4 rounds and just tried to win rounds

Hrgovic has a chin but he was pretty limited

 

I agree with this to the extent that Itauma had paced himself accordingly then there would be pretty much nothing that Hrgovic could do.

I think Hrgovic has a decent skill set, once he got over the Zhang knockdowns he boxed his head off in the second half of that fight and conversely he boxed Dubois’ head off for the first 2-3 rounds until the cut and the Dubois come back. What it shows is how elite Itauma is because Hrgovic had so few sustained periods of success until round 8. Pleased for Hrgovic as carries himself well and has stuck with it, no doubt has come up the hard way.

With regards to Itauma, this shouldn’t and won’t be the end of him. Many have spoken about Haye’s loss to Thompson and how it didn’t hurt his progress. However, while I think protecting the 0 is nonsense, in this instance being undefeated would really have assisted Itauma become a star - and he could be viewed as close to invincible. It’s a shame that’s gone. I did call that there was nothing to suggest Hrgovic would be a knock over job - 15 years of evidence to the contrary. Without wishing to apportion blame - the Warrens, and team Itauma need to reflect on this as to the thinking. If you’re going to get in with Hrgovic (and there is a huge step between Franklin and that version of Whyte) then you need to be prepared to go 12 rounds. I think it’s poor matchmaking and then really poor preparation. Also after 6 rounds, he just needed to stay on his feet. It was obvious he was tiring. The instruction should have been - get on your bike, counter punch and spoil. He could have done the 12. The amount of energy he wasted in 7-9 throwing bombs was obscene. All very avoidable.
