Anyone know what happened to this guy? Chapman is only 25 but is 29-0 with 26 KO's. At 6'5, 250 he has the size to compete with the European heavyweights as well. Unfortunately, J.D. has now gone 12 months without a fight? Maybe he is injured or has lost interest?
He's way too slow and doesn't have a whole lot of skill. He won't be a contender. The man has been fighting 6 years and hasn't done anything impressive.
I heard he retired to work for his dad. That was a few months ago...he may have just been thinking about it.
Im not sure what happened to him, but seeing some of his fights he seems to have not really gained any skill or experience from the fights he has had. Maybe he can become a contender at some point but so far he seems like he would be an easy kill for a Klitschko, Gomez, Peter, or Haye.
We tried to get him for sparring for the Wlad/Rahman fight.. he said no to Wlad. Thats all I have heard from him
Chapman was only cousing noise by calling off possiblefights Like he did when he called out Povetkin but couldn't risk his unbeaten record when Sasha took the challenge...
Glad to hear he is not done. Chapman has a lot of improving to do but has size and power. The sparring with Klitschko would have been an incredible education for him (and probably a decent payday as well). If J.D. did duck Haye and Povetkin it was probably for the best. Don't think he can hang with those guys yet but in a few years who knows?
