I see the usual clowns like Sam Jones and the Fight Disciples pushing the ‘Prograis is ducking Catterall’ crap this morning.

Catterall has no belt, isn’t a mandatory and is a virtual unknown in America.

 

I don’t see the point of Sam Jones. Hideous.

 

In fairness to Jack, he’s got a good record, decent performances but he seems to be in the who needs him club, never really been given good promotion. Not saying Regis is ducking him for him for a second, but Catterall is hardly on anyone near the world title scene hit list.

 

Don't think I've ever listened to Sam Jones. Looks like a nasty piece of work and not a very smart 1 at that.

This would be a terrible fight for Catterall and a waste of time. Obviously it's unfortunate he can't fight Prograis as Sandor Martin has been mandated, but Matchroom have a lot of other fighters at 140 that they can pair him up with. Why not Liam Paro or Stevie Spark instead ? Or even the Mexican Gabriel Valenzuela?

 

Linares has lost his last 3 fights and 5 of his last 8.

Catterall was never going to challenge for a world title in his next fight despite what Hearn and Quagmire say. Brings nothing to the table. Horrible ugly style, no belts, isn’t a mandatory and isn’t a name in America.

Agree. Linares has been a good servant in the past so it's another long service reward fight like putting Burns and Crolla together back in the day. Shouldn't trouble Catterall at his age but it'll do nothing for his career other than keeping busy.

"BIG FIGHT" is stretching it and god knows what the undercard will be if this is the headliner.

 

I agree it's aa terrible fight, especially because Linares has never fought at 140. However, Prograis Catterall was definitely the plan until the WBC ordered Prograis to fight Sandor Martin or Devin Haney.

Unfortunately seems like Catterall will fight Linares next. Catterall is 5th with the IBF but only two fighters are ranked above him. I was wondering if he could have fought Ergashev in a final eliminator.

I think this card will do dreadful numbers at the Manchester Arena, especially since Zelfa Barrett will probably fight Cordina in Wales.

 

They should do it co-main to Wood v Warrington.
