IS this a real move? what is he doing? I know its working with a pro wrestler..and hence likely a work..but thats back in the days of pro wrestling more closely following real shoot grappling. Dempsey was said to be very good at catch as catch can..and also did some judo....so is this a real move? This content is protected
It looks as if he MIGHT be going for some sort of compression lock on the guys knee, but really the answer is no, it doesn't look like anything. If he pulls the dudes right foot into the dudes thigh it could be a compression lock.
it is with a pro wrestler at the time..and friend of dempseys...bull montanta.... i have read though that dempsey did do allot of submission wrestling and was decently good at it.
I heard that too. He wrote a hand to hand combat manual for the marine corps (or some other army regiment) as well i believe. He was a bad motherf@cker, in or out of the ring

interesting..... dempsey was actually close to real shoot match with ed strangler lewis..but after a few months of serious training he and his team decided against it....reports are it was to be a pure grappling match...and after training against good grapplers dempsey decided he couldnt win that..so pulled out.... would have been interesting to see him doing a mma style match however..with his good grappling and excellent striking against just a excelling grappler...
