You sure do start a lot of threads. But yes, Jacobs chin is underrated. The Pirog KO looked bad, but someone made a nice point that he wasn't actually out. Jacobs was taking his time to recover. Too bad that he didn't realize he looked like a dead man.
I don't think his last fight gives any pointers on his chin he didn't take anything serious that you would have expected to rock him.
I'm sorry man but anyone who gets put on ***** street by light punching Mora will always have a suspect chin. In the words of the ESBs immortal Chin Checkers and Team Elite. Once they crack they don't come back.
The Mora knockdown was a very weird shot, just look at their feet position. And Mora threw that shot from so far outside the field Jacob's vision. A quick hitter can sometimes get away with a flash shot. (Paulie dropped the stone chinned Lovemore N'dou for example)
I wonder if he suffers from WK disease. He’s never been out cold, was “ko’d” once and dropped two more times (to my knowledge). My point is, I think it’s his mentality more than anything else, he gets scared and overreacts. Wlad, whenever under fire, would throw his hands up and retreat in a straight line in fear of taking one on the chin, yet had taken quite a few notable shots and stayed up no problem. Golovkin was meant to knock him TFO, he stalked Jacobs around the ring like he does and everyone, including Jacobs, knew what’s about to follow so as soon as **** hit the fan he must’ve thought “this is it” and crumbled yet went on to take more serious shots no problem. His reaction hearing the final bell sort of supports this. Same reason he never seems to go for it, always fighting safety first, some weak ass spurs here and there instead of actually taking matters into his own hands. He could be quite a force to recon with just like WK when he felt comfy.
And what do we call those guys who couldn't crack the chin of said 'suspect chins' like Daniel Jacobs? Those guys such as Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin? Do they have equally suspect fists?
