The "only" problem is that Derevyanchenko doesn't have a one punch KO power, is not as fast and not as smart (Pirog is truly an intellectual) as Pirog... So that approach won't work and Sergey needs to find another way to win.
Ok, let’s see what we have. Jacobs is significantly taller, with an almost 6” reach advantage. He’s faster, he has a very powerful punch (one punch KO power), he’s much more experienced as a professional boxer. On top of that, he is the A side in this fight, the judges will be on his side. So, actually what advantages Derevyanchenko has over Jacobs? Not many, in fact… But Sergey is an extremely dedicated and hardworking boxer and, as a result, he has very good stamina. And it seems that the only way for Derevyanchenko to win is to wear Jacobs down, get him tired and out of breath and then to overwhelm and finish him. In order to do that Sergey needs to set a very high tempo from the first rounds and not to fall victim to Jacobs’ deadly counterpunches.
Guess who else didn't have one punch KO power? A certain intellectual you just mentioned. Mora dropped him, GGG dropped him, Truax hurt him, I like Danny a lot, but the man has a horrid mandible, the only reason he survived GGG is because he fought a defensively brilliant fight, he'll get brave because Sergey doesn't hit that hard, and he'll pay for it dearly. Stop selling Sergey short, have some faith in your countryman.
I'm just trying to save some money for those who are about to bet big on Sergey... At this point he's definitely overhyped, I would say.
Jacobs hasn't looked as good since the GGG fight, but he still has the tools to compete at the top. As far as SD, he'll give anyone problems, but I don't see him as an elite fighter. 50/50 fight. I'll be rooting for the Miracle Man. I think the fact that they had the same trainer will play a big factor, ala JDJ Kovalev.
Let them fend for themselves, and in my opinion, Sergey is definitely underhyped at this point, along with Saunders I think SD is probably the most skilled guy at MW other that the 2 top dogs. Stylistically I've always seen this match as a bad one for Danny, regardless of all the advantages he holds.
I think Sergiy is mentally a killer and would wear down and stop the current version of GGG and will put Jacobs in retreat mode after a few rounds. I suspect he will be "rock" and Jacobs will be more "scissors" than "paper".
