Angry kid syndrome from a ****ed up childhood; he had all the opportunities in the world, & most likely more money than the average boxer, and he STILL managed to **** it all up outside the ring. Gun possession as a convicted felon in Texas? As a grown man & *professional* boxer who is better than the ESPN/Versus/basic cable pool of journeymen jabroney fighters? Get that corny stupid bull**** the **** outta here...
Give him a checklist with all the unnecessarily stupid bull**** he's gotta **** up his life with; chances are, he's not done.

Now, I can understand that surroundings can necessitate carrying "protection". But, with his current professional circumstances, I don't see how he could not have adjusted his lifestyle/residence/transportation/associates so that he would *never have to carry a piece for personal protection*. He can keep playing "tough guy" in prison (& write letters to Plaxico Burress) for all I care. There are a lot more professional boxers out there to watch without concern for whether or not they'll disappear due to "legal issues".

  5. I don't know the full story here but why the **** does someone like him who has it all going for him do something like that.. am I missing something? needs his ****in head reading

i agree with 3rdislander, as much of a talent he is he made a very stupid choice. especially considering the fact that he was on probation, but even with that being said im looking forward to him bing back in the ring. all though history has suggested that jail time has ruined many fighters. i have a feeling that he wont be the same when he gets out, i hope im wrong though.

Sometimes when you think you got to 'keep it real', you'd be better off keeping it a little less real. Chad Dawson had to make a choice between hanging with his drug dealer friends or making a clean break for the better of his career and family. He made the right choice. Kirkland did not. Hopefully, he'll come out of the can with his head screwed on right, rather than even more screwed up.

Kirkland is pure entertainment in the ring, I hope he comes back and I hope that he stays out of trouble. please.

he has been my favorite prospect, he should really be on mainstream tv making a case for boxing

Such a waste of talent. I hate when guys that have it all going for them screw up so idiotically it sickens me. Hopefully he can get his head right I do miss seeing him he was entertaining.
