He wasn't bad in his prime?....Not sure he actually had one. He has zero punch resistance and panic when hit.

 

I remember watching his fight with Fedor's brother the promo for it made you think he was going to be a star (Like all pride promo's :yep) then he got hit in the face.

 

the ultimate gatekeeper.. few would **** with him based on his appearance though

I wouldnt even call him that. Thompson was just a very big guy who got far enough on his size alone and when he started facing some bonafide competition realised he had a chin of bone china.
Thompson has the ring intelligience of a 2 month old baby. Dam shame as he is physically blessed. But **** me that guys dumb.
And by the time he fought Frye in the last PRIDE show i think Frye was completely shot. All he had left was his mustache and his big ass balls.
