in his first fight against peter he didnt look that bad...but he still loked bad.

he still has the handspeed and the tricks and traps...but just suffers from lathargism...which he has suffered form his whole career. giving rounds away for no reason. even in his younger years he was given close fights.

Do you think he'll do it clean this time?

And I'm not talking about the way he eats his burgers.

? You're kidding right. He looked horribly out of shape in both fights. Anything over 220 for Toney is obese.

In order to be relevant he would have to come in at or around 220, preferably below. But at his age and with his track record recently..not a hope in hell.

He was in pretty good shape for the Booker fight. He first started looking bloated against Ruiz and has got progressively worse since then. Against Rahman and Peter he looked pathetic.

some people live in the physical world more than others and i'll be very surprised if toney finds the discipline at his age.

i think he'll carry a chip on his shoulder until the end of his days because he won't be able to find the discipline to pull this off - and that will **** him off.

hope i'm proved wrong, but i bet i'm not.

It doesn't matter these days. He's too old now to accomplish anything major, no matter how well he trains.

Don't count out Toney yet, don't count him out yet...

Here's some recent pics of him, from june 13th - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCj4Ki0EySk at 1:23, pics of Antonio Tarver and Shane Mosley too
he looks good there, I guess he's about 220-225lbs. He said he wants to come in at 212 lbs against Rahman, that's maybe a bit exaggerated, but 217 lbs, like he was against Holyfield, is not impossible. Really!

I was just about to say that...
I'm not the biggest fan of Toney The HW, but he was at his best in that fight.
If James can melt down to anywhere below 220....I'd say Rahman is in deep.

He looked reasonably trim in a recent picture I saw.

  13. Yea he's training at fatburger by stuffing steriods in his cheese burgers:lol: Toney hasn't or won't train because he's to damn lazy:tired and at 40 he's got as much a chance of winning a Heavyweight title, as Floyd Mayweather would have against Wlad Klitchko:hang NONE..

He's lucky to be even getting a fight with a decently big name like Rahman, after his last few showings.

If Toney don't come into this fight, prepared and in great condition, interest in him will fall even lower, to near nothing.............Most people will no longer give two hoots in hell about seeing him fight.......He'll then be FNF material....

He should have started trimming since June 2007. His last fight was an SD against Batchelder in May of 2007. :D

Damn it's going to be a miracle if he can come close to 240.
