James Toney was a great fighter in his day. A joy to watch defensively. Sad to see yet another great fighter go the same way and still think they have got it like in their prime.

Its the biggest problem in boxing, apart from the steroids, fighters carrying on well past it, and not admitting it aint there anymore. Fighters in denial, and they do more harm to themselves than good.

The very best leave it, close the book, and put it back on the bookshelf. The ones that damage their once great legacy's and careers, are those that just cant let it go.

Ah I see what tha did there.

Chisora fought out of his skin that night, but it still goes down as a loss against an injured fighter......also a legitimate injury.

I thought Chisora won but not as wide as a lot of people seem to "remember".

I'm looking forward too seeing if Chisora actually achieves anything when he comes back or will he just go back to beating fighters off the Euro circuit.

I think that fight told us more about Helenius than it did about Chisora, if we're honest. But it's a win for Dereck in most people-who-have-eyes' minds.

Helenius' performances since have been awful and Dereck has yet to beat anyone who's actually any good.

Toney would get knocked out by any top heavyweight with power. This idea he's invincible is ridiculous talk, he's getting hurt now which is something you'd seldom see years ago. If he gets in the ring with a heavy with power its not going to end well, his balance is laughable, his reflexes are worse than shot.

And no he wouldn't beat any live body at the moment, and I'd include Chisora in that category.

    He wasnt "fooled" into anything.

He appeared on tv insulting UFC for quite a while, he showed up at their gigs and talked ****

and he got 750k for one fight the largest payday at that time in UFC, and hes not even an MMAer

Toney fooled them , and got nearly a million bucks for one minute

Toney's unfortunately become a joke. Like Holyfield, Harrison, Mosley and several others we could name, his career has become a novelty act that is causing irreparable damage to his legacy.

Remember when he went over to UFC? That was the ultimate embarrassment. It's a shame when we see once fantastic fighters lower themselves to such depths, all for money. Younger fighters need to look at these guys and realise that you need to invest your money more wisely, don't blow it because when you're old and finished you're going to need it.

If you watch Terry Norris at the end of his career vs Boudouani it's scarily like Toney now in terms of balance and skill deterioration. He is clearly brain damaged, it's awful.

Toney should have bowed out a long time ago.
