Yes I can.. Bob Fitzsimmons, except he wasn't competitive at it, he won the world title... Jones also. Toney is just a roly poly drug abuser.

McCallum was not over the hill at all. He was the current WBA middleweight champion and went on to win the WBC lightheavyweight championchip. McCAllum was ranked as the number 1 middleweight by Ring and was a five to two favourite to beat James at the time of their first fight

Jones and Tiozzo had a lot of trouble with a much older McCallum.

Jones was only there for one fight and that for good reason as he knew he would get knocked out sooner or later.

So, that leaves Toney and Fitzsimmons.

So that makes him a great fighter? because he ate too much, then hasnt won a thing at HW, in a time when its at its most shocking state, all he can do is be competitive, this iron chinned, throw back legend.... what a let down... he's still a bum no matter how you look at it.

I just had to check, and McCallum was 35... 11 yrs older, he was already handicapped due to his age. I confess I have only seen replays of the 1st fight that was very even, never the second, so I can't comment.

No, you missed the point, Calzaghe conditioned himself to move up, and he didn't have an easy adjustment fight like most, he took on the number 1 guy, unlike Toney who ate himself out of the weight classes and hand picked people.calzaghe also got off the canvas and beat Hopkins, that in itself is impressive. I also believe Hopkins to be better now than he was against Jones, he has a lot more ring smarts, and this is something he says also, judging from what he did to Pavlik, it can't really be argued, even his negative tactics against Calzaghe were impressive.

Toneys resume, when disected isn't as impressive as you like to think, and sitting in a heavyweight division, not fighting teh Klits for how many years? he's a fraud, he just wants money and to shout his fat face on TV.

Calzaghe v Jones is all a matter of opinion, I see Jones never fighting anyone like Calzaghe, equally the same with Jones, but Jones in his prime would always take a lot of breaks inbetween flurries, he wouldn't have a chance of doing this against Calzaghe, and Calzaghe had a devastating punch, I see Joe winning it.

So what, Toney was 34 when he beat Jirov and was still very good. You haven't even seen the McCallum fights so do even start with you usual nonsense comments.

Toney landed the hard over hand right consistently and that is why he should have won it. McCAllum landed only 3 more punches in that fight. Sean Ogrady had it 9-3 for Toney. A poll which was conducted later on HBO for their rematch indicated that 80 per cent (among them fans and experts) thought Toney deserved to win.

No I saw one of the fights, which was even, but rightfully a draw.

And Jirov is not meant to be on McCallums level, so that comparrisons stupid even if you go for those, he got very lucky with Nunn, beat old timer McCallum, and beat a guy that couldn't get through the ropes unassisted in Holyfield.

God I nearly forgot Moorer pounded Jirov, how shameful is that! wipe him from your list.

Calzaghe faced a 43 yr old excellent Hopkins, who is natrually bigger, as is Jones, who is 39.. 3 yrs older than Joe is, lets get it into perspective, Pavlik lost to an older Hopkins and was meant to be the best American fighter at 26!

Hopkins age doesnt matter, as his body is as fine tuned as it used to be, hes proved it, so stop dropping the age in like it matters.

Joe doesn't have to face a heavyweight, he prefers dominating his actual divions than jumping all over the shop handpicking ppl he can beat.

I wonder how many times Toney did drugs anyway, he was caught for it, but lets face it, I'm sure his career has been littered with it, I am just pleased he was jacked up by Jones and exposed. The only thing impressive about his record is being beaten up by Jones, and the volume of fights, other than that, its stinks of a tubby gobshite blazing himself on narcotics while ensuring he faced ppl he knew he could beat ( though in some cases he couldn't even do that)
