Anybody else think he looked average on the Brook card? I saw nothing special at all. He looks good v guys who stand and trade, But Lewis used movement and Cox had no answers what so ever. The scorecards weren't the greatest either! Cox will be outboxed by a mover!
Obodai sai and that Argentinian cab driver weren't movers and he didn't set the world alight against them. I said Cox would stop Fielding but I take that back now. Fielding may be timid but Cox don't have nothing. Cox gets beat by a decent European level fighter and thats what Rocky is. Cox is bloody tiny for 168 too, needs to move down
He was cleared on that charge. In response to the thread, yes he looked very average and I don't think Hearn is convinced. In his last few fights he has shown here is poor defensively and doesn't hit asend hard as he imagines. He is deluded to be talking about fighting Grovesend and Eubank as he will never reach that level. Domestic is his ceiling just like that Fielding guy who was blasted out by Smith
Not IMO Chelli is all wrong for Cox Bigger, stronger and tougher Cox would get a beat down regardless of experience Cox is a 4 round fighter any way, get past 4 rounds and he's got nothing left Chelli will be british champ inside 10 fights if Warren pushes him
I don't think Chelli causes the problems Cox hates. Chelli doesn't move and box like Taylor was. That's why I think a boxer would just school cox! Chelli causes a different set of problems. No denying he has good power but Cox can hit too!
The thing is Chelli beats him @ his own game, hence Cox has no chance I get the point he might look bad against a boxer, but Cox looks worse against a guy who throws back!!!! Obodai Sai was a tiny no power midget that just came forward all night and he gave Cox a hiding Chelli will knock his block off
I thought Cox would of had more up his sleeve for that fight against Taylor, I think half the problem is he wasnt bothered bu Taylors power what so ever and that made him get caught a lot and popped his head back, I actually thought the scorecards were closer than the Judges gave. Have seen some of Cox's sparring videos and in a brawl he looks a dangerous man, could it be you can only beat whats in front of you and he dropped down a level against Taylor? Some boxers need that live wire threat in front of them when they are boxing to bring the best out in them, could this be Cox? I also think he would dispatch of Fielding and would put money on that fight, think Cox's other problem was he let the occasion of matchroom debut get to him too much and was trying to impress which ended up making his work look shoddy
Cox is way too eager to throw in the elbows & the head. I'd love to see him in there with Luke Blackledge, who would happily oblige him in a 'rough and tough' fight. I'd say Luke edges him in that department. I'm not sold on Cox as this killer neither, he frustrates easy & looks like a DQ waiting to happen. Fielding's strength is his awkwardness & ability to find shots from nowhere, for that i see him stopping Cox rather early, countering one of Cox's many wild shots.
