It's like any other buisness, your asking price will depend on how much in demand u are.
But as a basic start, a JM with plenty of notice booked in advance against an average opponent, on a small hall, will get about £1300 for 4x3s, that's the purse, plus overheads for travel, if its over say 70mile. And money for overnight accommodation if needed.
Other than that the JM has leverage over short notice, opponent been really good or a banger, weight discrepancies and straight up desperation from a promoter/matchmaker.
JM will also get more on TV shows and ibvoously for more rounds.
The British JM are in big demand atm and in general have good leverage simply because they're in short supply.
The JM plays an important role in the UK Pro Boxing model and the opinion that they "come to lose" is incorrect.
No JM comes to lose, they have a job description and tally that with the fact that they usually work a full time job may also be married with kids and they are out maybe every week or other week tips the scales in favour of the home fighter who will do a 3 month camp specifically for that JM. They have a boxing coach, a S&C coach, a performance director, physiotherapist, sport masseur, nutritionist etc etc then u can see how the scales are tipped. On top of that the JM may be booked the week after and any cut or ko will result in them losing that fight and purse. Its now easy to imagine the contrast in how much desire a JM brings to each fight but as has been witnessed recently with men like Poochy and Karl Sampson if they are in a position or frame of mind to come and "put it on u" you could be in big trouble.
