So, what are peoples thoughts on this guy being back in the "big time". OK, not that big time but you know what I mean. Personally I thought we'd never see him again after his numerous PED busts. But here we are. How would you feel if he somehow got himself back in contention for a big fight, let's not forget this guy was about to fight an undefeated at the time Joshua in Maddison square garden a few years back. Personally I hope Dubois slaps the sh*t out of that cheat but I'd like to hear other peoples opinions.
When he was clean, Jarrell Miller was not a particularly heavy-hitter. He had a high-ish work rate and could overwhelm you - but stopping Bogdan Dinu and Tomasz Adamek's ghost isn't anything special. He was kind of like a supersized Buster Mathis Jr. With a better chin(s). He's 35 now and plumper than ever. He'll be a punching bag before Round 5 ends and I don't see him stopping DuBois before that.
I doubt he'll beat DuBois (see above), but - per your own comment above - Miller is a guy who moves the needle for fans. To use the wrestling terms, he's a heel not a face - but that's good for promotion. If fans are watching to see him get KTFO...well, the fans are watching. So if he somehow beats DuBois - he'll be in the mix for eliminator discussions or selection as a voluntary.
Have no respect for that loud mouthed blimp. He should have been banned for life getting caught roiding twice.
Miller is box office with his personality and a real entertainer, its great to see him back. Loved seeing him trash talk at the recent presser. In terms of his PED use, name me a top boxer who is not on some form of performance enhancing drugs. Some are clever and get a doctor to legally say they are deficient in testosterone so they can receive legal doses of it. Most are clever enough to micro dose at night when the testers cannot test them, and by the morning if they are tested nothing will show up. Many like to go to Spain so they can receive their EPO treatment away from the testers. You know if you are getting caught you are sloppy, and that is the only crime Miller is guilty of.
I was one of Miller's biggest fans on here so my disappointment in how he handled himself during "roid-gate" was far greater than most. He should've been the American standard bearer at HW and left it to Wilder. Miller was articulate, funny, personable, a great interview and up until then was walking through everything like a tank. And he literally gave all that away. At this point, I really could care less smh
