I'm going to have to get a jaw surgery to fix my under bite. The doctor says il be able to spar again after 6 months or so but not sure if he just wants to get his money. I was mostly wondering if anyone else have a jaw surgery then kept boxing and how they felt after thanks for the help

No but listen to your doctor. If you can (ask your doctor) do some jaw excess ices to strengthen your jaw.

Fixing an underbite sounds like a major procedure. I would think 6 months sounds about right, as a MINIMUM.

  4. I have an under bite, why do you need surgery?

    Oops Sorry.

  8. Should I be worried or is it a minor thing?

It shouldnt be overlooked, it appears to be gathering interest from factions in Sport, I find it of interest. As Ive been aware of it for some time.

I have to have mine done cause my jaw pushes on my sinus wich causes sleep-apnea and makes it difficult to breath

  12. Oh damn that sounds bad, you gonna go for the surgery then?

This is such a coincidence, I started boxing 7 months ago and I have braces, my orthodontist sent me to a surgeon who said I will need surgery to fix my overbite, im waiting for the meeting to discuss the surgery more in depth. My overbite is so bad and also a hindrance to my boxing, whenver I spar the chin strap rolls off my chin and onto the front side of my face leaving it to be knocked all over the place so I constantly have to find distance and pull it tight again after getting hit. Good luck with the surgery and atleast you can probably box again, I was scared jaw surgery could possibly mean no boxing ever again, but I would have to ignore that and just do it anyway lol
