yes but he is a long way off the elite and his division was poor but still a decent pro and a tough guy

Yeah effectiveness overrides flash etc though for me, and he must have been somewhat effctive to beat the likes of Casamayor, Lazcano, Johnston twice (depending on your scoring), and for some Mayweather, like i said a draw for me. Also it's up to you wether to credit him for ko'ing Corrales, as Castillo was over the weight on a revenge mission.

Like i say he has good wins in terms of at the time, but like i say it doesn't matter anyway, i'm not making out like he was on the level of greatness of Ike Williams or even Beau Jack or Lou Ambers, far from it, just an underrated lightweight at present for me, that's all

Add Bazan to that list, that was an impressive win

Corrales/Casamayor/Johnston/Mayweather though are 4 of the best names at LW in any era and 4 of the best names in the sport and they were all very close fights. People forget what a beast Corrales was from 130-135 and how slick Casa and Johnston were.

I think Castillo-Corrales 1 finally ruined both men

Good addition to my argument there with Bazan, though imo the others mentioned before hand are the bigger for his resume's boosting in the minds of fans.
