You definately can Beav. In your User CP area there's an 'Edit Ignore List' function - it's about the 14th item in the long list of stuff on the left hand side of the page. When you wish to 'ignore' someone, and the best example is childish attention seekers like the Troll mentioned above, there's a window where you enter their name. If you have any difficultly let me know (for more details).
