It was totally based on the quote by Lacy about having Calzaghe flashbacks, however proof can be seen when he met Tsypko. Lacy clearly couldn't take a punch like he once did and I didn't notice any improvements in his style like they said they will apply, another sign of not getting too far. You claim I'm overly dramatic as always?, give me a few examples of when I was overly dramatic please.
yah, i thought tysko won that fight. almost a draw but i think the russian did a little more. having said that if jeff lacy didn't tear his rotor cuff i would expect a win for lacy. but it's all academic. jeff lacy took a severe beating verses calzaghe (which in many ways is worst than a clean ko loss), and then badly damaged his rotor cuff in the tysko fight AND got beaten up a tad plus wobbled. back to back fights like that have got to chip away at the physical and mental state of any fighter. considering he's in the weight divison of calzaghe and kessler, he will be nothing more than a highly ranked gatekeeper. if kessler and calzaghe don't leave this division soon, then lacy's time will pass and an upcoming younger, fresher fighter will bypass lacy for the belts once they are vacated. regardless of who wins the unification in november i can't see ANY fighters beating either kessler or calzaghe. (well calzaghe will be moving up win or lose so that leaves kessler. and kessler will remain in this division for a while longer).
Don't expect Blockhead too provide you with any examples because that is not how he works. He just pulls accusations out of a certain body part it seems. He does it towards everybody he disagrees with along with a long series of insults.:nut
My dear Blockhead, All it takes is a cut in a fight that Pavlik is brutally owning Jermain Taylor and then I am gone forever, something that I would honour. The risk of an injury is simple not worth the bet, since an injury is the only way he loses. But Blockhead, the man with the perfectly carved abdominal section, instead of thinking before you post in rabid fashion, you just react, showcasing your weak intellect again and again. It's the absurdity that we have to live with.
Jeff seemed to be struggling with his confidence against Tsypko, although you could pin that on the injury. However, his chin definitely wasn't what it had been pre-Calzaghe, and I suspect it never will be the same. I'll never understand why Birmingham didn't pull the plug that night.
Lacy is one of my favorite and I'd love for all that to be true with in-ring proof and I'll be looking forward to it. I was quite shocked about the sparring comment, even though it could be true(Not calling you a liar, Amsterdam), since Lacy already claimed that he wants a rematch with Calzaghe recently, I don't know if you remember it but he definitely did ask for it and Cazlaghe replied with the "1,000 reasons to not want it" comment. All trash talking aside, can't wait for Lacy to come back and do great, will be hard to believe since I don't think he'll be able to take punches like he used to but an improvement in defense and overrall skills isn't totally out of the question. Hope it's applied, otherwise Lacy won't get too far by just relying on taking and landing one big shot.
Don't provoke Blocky, he is a member of mensa, has a perfect abdominal section as you pointed out, and remember all the girls throw themselves at him when he goes out. I suspect, he will soon reveal his true identity, namely SUPERMAN!
Lost countless bets due to bad predictions? Blockhead, I've won more money on betting on boxing than you will ever dream of doing and Pavlik is another easy pop.
He tore a rotator cuff late in the fight, the evidence about his confidence and abilityt to take a shot was clear EARLY. He was rocked early with a few decent shots, nothing major but brought his attention big time, and in the 8th he nearly went down from a flush shot which also proves that his ability to take a shot is nothing compared to before and you won't need anymore fights to prove that to you, just watch the number of shots he took in the Calzaghe fight and use common sense after it. As far as heart is concerned, Lacy does have heart, he always did and will. It's his performance that needs to be looked at and it was nothing like it used to, if anything it was actually worse. All the talks about improving the defense and skill(jab, movement..etc) was a load of crap.
