Hobson doesn't have a TV deal(that I know of) and has a smallish stable. Only notable names are Woods, Fehintola and Kiko Martinez. Will Jeffries get mainstream exposure with Hobson as his promoter?

Atleast they wont over expose him by putting him top of a bill and hyping him beyond belief before he has had a dozen fights, my only concern is how often they will have him fight with lack of shows and tv exposure.

dont think he really has the wow factor that the other guys like gavin and degale have. i mean he did win a bronze at the olympics, but didnt exactly look great doing so, getting a bye the first round and had to rely on a countback to get past the second round.

dont think the promoters(well warren) would've been queing up to sign him. least not on the kind of deals that gavin and deagle will get, which gives guys like hobson a chance.

I think it is a good move for the lad. Hobson is a decent promoter and will do good business for him and build him up correctly. If Jefferies has pro potential and looks good he will get the opportunities and as a bonus for me the cards he will be shown on should be fairly local.

i think its quite a coup for hobson. think about how fanatical sunderland, newcastle, boro footie fans our. if they have even a half decent boxer he will do well.

Hobson had a 6 show deal with setanta, of which he did 1 show (woods vs that mexican lad)

anyway, now that woods has gone, hobson will concentratre soley on 1 fighters, jeffries. and the guy has a track record of getting british, euro and world title shots for guys.

aye being a mackem myself i can vouch for how popular tony is in his home town,he should get good support.he's never out of the local papers up here, backing charity causes and opening places and the like,he just comes over as a very nice kid,and after meeting him briefly at a function that really seems to be the case.how far he can go in the pro ranks is another matter,as nufc16 says in reality he didn't pull up many trees at the olympics (hope there was no anti mackem bias there mate!) however with full time pro training amateurs who are less fancied can surprise people,as hobson says he is heavy handed and has good ability.lets hope the kid does well.
