Louis would break him down but I see the fight going into later rounds or a UD for Joe...We are talking about a prime version of Jeffries here right...the one that fought Johnson goes in 2-3 rds with a prime version of the BB
a) Jeffries time-machined into Louis's time: most probably Louis. b) Louis time-machined into Jeffries time: Louis, but closer odds than 'a'. c) Jeffries coming along in Louis's time: Louis, but closer odds than 'a'. d) Louis coming along in Jeffries day: I'd slightly favor Jeffries.
Joe Louis had great stamina/pacing and was one of the most economical heavyweights when it came to using his energy. Even under a 25 or 30 round fight with the ruleset of Jeffries' time, i'd favor him to get the win.
I think Louis with that economical style and thumping jab gives Jeffries a serious beating,I beleive his style is totally wrong for Jeff. Louiis would rip in hooks and combos ,mixed with an uppercut to turn the crouching Californian into a gory mess. Fitz made a pizza out of Jeffries face twice ,Louis would decorate it and lacerate it,for a late stoppage imo.
Jeffries' mental toughness and physical conditioning would always be a factor. But, I think Louis was simply in a better class. His technical punching ability, power and modern heavyweight size ( something Jeffries rarely faced ), would be the turning of the tables. Louis regularly destroyed giant heavyweights who were ranked at the world level, many of whom were even larger than Jeffries, and in some cases may even have hit harder. Jeff's only chance is to draw Louis in and use his inside tactics to neutralize Louis's attack. This would be a very dangerous proposition however, as Louis was just absolutely lethal on the inside with his combos.. My thinking is Louis takes him apart..
Louis man handled Carnera and at one stage lifted him bodily.Primo was astonished and said to Joe "I should be doing this to you".Jeffries might not have much success inside.Louis fought a lot of men bigger than Jeffries and caned them too.
Louis KO 6 Jeffries- Jeffries gets horribly battered...loses every round and only his strong heart keeps him going until the 6th. A devastating 4 punch combo puts jeffries down and out for the count. Jeffries did not have good defense. Supermiddleweights had no trouble landing there best punches on him. Its not a good idea for jeffries to attempt to take louis best stuff.
