Jermain Taylor ducked Calzaghe

In 2007 Jermain Taylor was offered $4m to fight Joe Calzaghe, yet he turned it down and DEMANDED $10m.

    Why did Taylor avoid Calzaghe?

    Who would have won?

If anybody did any avoiding in this scenario it was Calzaghe! He said he was going to fight the winner of Pavlik/Taylor II. Instead, he hid behind a shot to **** Roy Jones. A fighter Joe himself said he would not fight because he was shot! Watch and learn.

eh, in hindsight, probably a good move for Pavlik's sake. He would have gotten decimated by Calzaghe's superior speed, punching angles, and footwork.

No matter how you try to spin it, Joe Calzaghe ducked Kelly Pavlik, period. How the fght may have turned out is irrellevant. Slappy Joe wanted no part of KP!

Jermaine can be called alot of things but ducker is no where relevant in the equation . I'm a Bhop fan and felt he was robbed in the 1st fight and happy when he got KO'ed by KP, but even I know JT is nothing close to being a ducker.

Jermain's last nine fights were against current or recent world champions.

it was a choice between pavlik or jones.. and calz took the jones fight.

it was gonna be his last fight, so wanted the most cash.. which was jones.calzaghe didn't earn as much as you may think from his boxing career.. plus, he had to pay out to the ex wife when they got divorced.

pavlik had his chance to fight calzaghe, but turned it down.

calzaghe had the right after a long career to cash out to the highest bidder, and that's what he did.. you mean to tell me you wouldn't do the same?

Not a good move...people would not have ripped him a new one for losing to Calzaghe the same way as to Popkins. Pavlik should have just sat out until a real fight came along. He's been disallusioned. Taylor's $10 million gambit was just another example of what a spoiled, greedy jackoff he turned into as a champ. It took getting ass handed to him by Pavlik to make him the humble warrior he was pre-Hopkins. Remember, when Kellerman asked Taylor was going to fight Pavlik after that borefest with Spinks he said, "I'll fight whoever gets me the most money."

Lol this is like the Dawson argument and claims Joe ucked him. joe would have creamed Pavlik just like Dawson the truth is they were below him & Jones offered a better legacy & payday since Pavlik & Dawson now have been proven to be hypejobs.

Pavlik had his chance to fight Calzaghe? When???????????????

And, it has NEVER been verified that shot to **** Jones brought more money than Pavlik would have.

Pavlik got rid of his obligation to Jermaine Taylor, and then said "Bring It!" And slappy joe ran the other direction.
