Mesi has a fight on the 27th against an as-yet unannounced opponent, and then is supposedly in talks for a Brian Minto fight in October. After that, he may be gunning for Rahman, as both guys and their management have been calling the other out. Jirov would probably be best served to go back down to cruiserweight. While a rematch between these two would be interesting, I don't think it'll happen.

I'm sure Jirov still wishes he had one more round that night or maybe even 1 more minute. He'd go right after Mesi and u know what? He'd knock him out.

The only one who would benefit from a rematch between the two is Jirov. And even then, he wouldn't benefit from it very much as Mesi isn't even ranked anymore, I don't believe.

A funny thing about the Jirov/Mesi fight. I don't get premonitions or anything like that. I'm certainly no psychic. However, I was watching the fight and remember at the end of the 8th round that Jirov kind of jumped around in his corner. He hopped like he was full of energy and while nobody else would give that a second thought I said to myself "something crazy is gonna happen" and sure enough in the 9th round Jirov started beating the **** out of Mesi.

I had nothing to substantiate this thought. Mesi was clearly winning the fight and Jirov looked done for. The moment I saw Jirov do that hop I just felt like there would be a dramatic change in the fight. Never had a feeling like that before and never since.

I remember when my father and I were watching this fight we both thought Jirov was gonna make easy work of Mesi, needless to say we were dissappointed as the fight progressed, we figured Jirov was damaged goods, then the 9th came and we were shouting at the top of our lungs. I was let down that he didn't win the fight, but.. what can ya' do..

TV......It is supposed to be on tape delay although I don't know when it airs. Joe Mesi is an analyst.

    Rematch ???
It would be an easy fight for Jirov.
Mesi definately wants no part of Jirov.
    It wouldnt go 3 rounds.

I do not think that Jirov would want it. I don“t think that he would had wanted to kill Mesi. Joe was brain damaged already, one minute more and he could had been killed. We can be very lucky that the final bell did not came one minute later.

Jirov is not going to fight in heavyweight division, he is a natural cruiserweight. But Jirov is planning on getting back his cruiserweight titles and hopefully unifying it.

Jirov beat Craven and Mesi was the analyst on a taped TV showing. That is the closest that they will ever be to a ring together.
