    why is joe gallagher hated so much? everyone i speak to cannot stand the man!!! they call him the joe gallagher show & he's more interested in keepin his unbeaten streak.He wont let his fighters fight anyone incase they get beat an spoil his winning streak,must give his fighters great confidence in knowing that!!! anyone care to comment!!:patsch

    Seems a normal bloke to me. Why everyone goes on about his record I've no idea, he doesn't make the matches.

    Says who? You mean they make a fight and then go up to Joe Gallagher and say 'you've got X is that okay?'. Is that what you call matchmaking now?

    Look, he's a trainer. He goes to the gym, holds up pads, oversees sparring and fitness work. His role does not encompass that and being responsible for all of John Murray's fights and if you think he's the one to blame for that over the promoter and official matchmaker you have some kind of axe to grind I suspect.

    Trainers are merely asked there opinions on opponents (according to our very own Billy Nelson) they have no final say.

    simply not the case as Gallger has turned down 3 fights recently for his fighters publicly.

    Yes that sounds likely. So, Frank Warren got a fax with an official offer for these 3 fights and without consulting Frank Joe Gallagher decided to do an interview turning down the fights?

    Jesus guys, think about what you're coming out with here. The promoters run the ship, trainers have an opinion and thats it. If Frank Warren or anybody else wanted to make a fight its made. Blaming Joe Gallagher, a trainer, for what is taking place is weak as hell. I suppose Ricky Burns is going to be fighting all the best at super featherweight since Billy Nelson has said he's the #1 in the world and the trainers have such an influence :conf:
