After the disgraceful way he cornered Scott Quigg against Jono Carroll do people think some of Joe Gallaghers boxers like the Smith brothers will lose faith and leave him for another trainer.

Would his stable of mediocre talents have won world titles with somebody else ?

I am not saying he does not have ability as a trainer but tonight and not for the first time he never protected his fighter on fight night.

Carroll isn't a puncher. He gave Quigg a chance to go out fighting, with a bit of pride.

Quigg went out with pride as there was no quit in him. It became apparent quite early he was never going to win was getting badly beat up was shipping shots that would never have landed on him a few years ago his feet were stuck in mud, so to speak. It was clear his reflexes had gone and he needed his trainer to protect him for his future outside boxing.

And he threw in the towel when he felt he had to.

Was far too late to do it. He was debating it in corner and bottling it. Hence why Crolla and the Smith bros were going mad at him.

Cant imagine Liam Smith and the boys wanting to be pulled out of a fight.

Its easy to criticize sitting watching. None of them, nor Matthew Macklin have had to balance the responsibility of a protecting a fighters safety and respecting his desire to fight.

Cant be as easy as some make it seem.

Mountain out of a mole hill. People are going overboard about it, Quigg was schooled but he was fine to fight to the end. I don't think fighters from ringside like Smith should have a say in it. Liam Smith would screw his face right up if Quigg tried to stop one of his fights.

Of course the fight could have been stopped earlier but we've seen much much worse than that, not like carroll has thudding GGG power, Quigg looked fine at the end of the fight, his fitness is excellent, he has always slurred and studdered his speech.

    blah

Yea I’ve seen many fights that should have been stopped that weren’t. Quigg was beat easy but he’d have finished that fight fine.

If they have enough sense, yes. I wouldn't let Gallagher look after a goldfish.

Tend to agree with that to be honest. He should of been pulled after the 9th IMO but it’s not like Carroll has massive power and Quigg would of been desperate to see the final bell. I remember Gallagher not pulling out Marcus Morrison (I think) on a Crolla card a few years ago when he was getting badly beaten up.. that was 100x worse.
