Giardello is one of my favorites. When he was "on" he was sublime to watch. His problem was that he was so inconsistent that he could show up undertrained and unmotivated and look very ordinary.
No amateur bouts, ala Billy Conn...Joey picked up his degree in boxing wizardry from the School of Hard Knocks. He's a pleasure to watch.
Giardello. I thought he won when they actually fought. Fullmer fought to survive, minimize the action, spoil, and win a hometown gift draw.
If Joey had the dedication to training of a Hagler or a Hopkins ,he would have been really something ,because he had everything else!
