It is a hard sport, Duddy came to fight and gave his best. Sure, he had limitations but he was exciting in the ring. I hope he made a nice comfortable nest egg for himself and wish him the best of luck!:good

what?? that's terrible! I was stoked for the duddy vs lee fight, woulda been entertaining and violent. hope he's alright though and he has taken a ton of punishment so it's understandable

He's a real warrior, gotta respect his decision even though I'm pretty dissapointed the Lee fight is not going through.

    Duddy retires; Lee fight off
I loved being a boxer, but I don't love it anymore
Middleweight contender John Duddy has announced that he is retiring from boxing effective immediately, thus rejecting a $100,000 purse for a proposed March 12 showdown with Irish compatriot Andy Lee. “After a great deal of soul-searching, I have decided to retire from boxing,” said Duddy in a statement. “I no longer have the enthusiasm and willingness to make the sacrifices that are necessary to honor the craft of prizefighting. I used to love going to the gym. Now it’s a chore. I wish I still had the hunger, but I don’t. The fire has burned out. And I know myself well enough to know that it won’t return….I give you my word, I will not come back.”
